Monday July 16th

My last staycation day! Back to work tomorrow… 🙁

Up early this morning and hit the gym,  followed by a 4 mile run! (Never miss a Monday people!!) Going to be very hot and humid today so getting it done early! 🌡 Even washed my Jeep afterwards…the spray from the hose was quite refreshing 🙂

July 16th

Today will be spent tidying up from yesterday’s party and basically enjoy my last day at home relaxing with the girls. My poor hubby had to work! There’s tons of food leftover which is extremely tempting but I’ve got this!! Thankfully many of the foods on our menu yesterday were keto friendly or can be altered a bit to become keto-friendly.

Changing It Up!

Today I decided to change it up a bit. Our youngest daughter had Varsity Cheer practice early this morning so instead of hitting the gym,  I hit the school complex instead!

And let me tell you… I’m feeling it tonight!

After a good stretch,  I started with bleacher runs.  I was on the Visitor side so it’s a smaller set of bleachers.

A combination of sprints, mountain climbers,  bear crawls,  lunges, squats and I even threw in some pushups and tricep dips.

After that, a 3 mile run through the school complex… with a nice big hill in the middle! After the run,  I decided to do sprints on that hill.  By then it was really getting hot out there!

Practice was still in full swing, so I grabbed my beach towel and hit the grass behind the bleachers for some ab, core and leg work.  I think the field maintenance crew driving around on the golf carts thought I was insane 😜

When all was said and done…I got a full 2 hour workout in! TWO HOURS. I’m pretty darn impressed with myself.

So tonight I’m relaxing at home with a simple steak salad and some of my favorite ginger peach iced tea!

My Wednesday Morning Workout

Despite the crazy day I had,  I did get up early and hit the gym.

My old knee injury that popped up during my a workout a few days ago was still bothering me so I focused on my upper body instead.  Great workout and even tried some new free weight exercises!

Once we finally got home tonight, our oldest daughter surprised me with a portable tens unit for my knee. Oh my… that was amazing.  I haven’t used one since my knee PT years ago! Super excited to have this around now!

No new Recipe tonight due to the craziness of the day.  I did manage to plan ahead though and throw meatballs in the crock pot with some Rao’s sauce! One of our favorite meals around here!

At the end of the day,  all I can do is smile and remember that tomorrow is another day… Good night everyone!

Never Miss A Monday

Never miss a Monday.

Long before I started this journey I would always hear this phrase. What’s the big deal about Mondays?

I’ve now come to realize that it’s more of a mindset.  Getting yourself up and out the door on a Monday – to the gym,  to run,  to bike, to walk  – it sets the tone for the week ahead.  I’ve now made it one of my goals each week.

It also helps that my rest day is Tuesday each week 😃

But let me tell you… today was hard. I was up far too late last night getting stuff done for our week ahead,  I woke up with a pounding headache, I’m tired, I have only two days of work between me and a week of vacation… the list goes on and on.

But I got up and went to the gym. With this headache,  it wasn’t fun.  Neither was the knee pain from an old injury popping up during my first set of leg extensions. I could have said “screw it” and went home but instead I cut back on the weight a bit and slowed down.

And I finished my workout.
