It has been quite crazy in our household the past few weeks. A total blur of cheer practices, back to school shopping, open house, pep rallies and football games! School started this past Monday and while it calmed down slightly- its still crazier than I would like.
One thing I’ve had to adjust is my workout schedule. I used to be a person who worked out at night and then in the mornings on the weekends. When school let out in June, I switched to very early mornings. And, somehow, I became a morning person! 🌞
When school started this week I realized I was going to need to adjust my time slightly. Who knew that tiny time change would throw me off?
Coordinating my training times around getting our daughter up and out the door to school on time has been fun. But I think I’m finally settled into a great pattern. Only time will tell at this point! Once it starts getting darker in the mornings, I may not be quite the morning person!
Lately I’ve been seeing commercials advertising the Walmart Grocery App and online ordering. Wasn’t 100% sold on it… but it definitely seemed interesting. This weekend a good friend of mine posted a referral code for $10 off and I thought sure… why not?
Let me tell you – this is a total gamechanger!! I will never go back to shopping in store for full orders again!
The process is amazingly simple. You can go online to Walmart Grocery or use the app. Register for an account, select the closest store that offers the service, select a pick up time frame and then start shopping!
You can view the different departments or search a specific item directly. The best part is they only show the current inventory for the store!
Select the items and quantity and just add to your cart! You can even click on the little heart to mark an item as a favorite.
Once you’re done “shopping” – click Checkout and you’re good to go! The order is sent to the store and they’ll pull your items for you. Once your order is ready – you’ll receive an email or a text saying your order is ready!
Here’s where it gets fun!
Once you receive that text/email/ alert and you’re ready to head to the store – simply click ‘Check in’ and enter the color of your car. Using gps, it’ll track your travel to the store. I literally pulled into a spot and before I had my Jeep in park, the team member was on her way out to my car!
Every item is bagged up and brought out on a cart full of crates. You sign for your order and they even load everything into your car for you!
Even better? Mark that you’ll allow substitutions and if something you ordered is now not available – they’ll replace it with an equal or better item at the same price! Can’t beat that!
Like I said, this is a total gamechanger! I will not go back to our regular shopping in store for full orders! It saved SO much time and I actually spent significantly less since I stuck to my list!
Intrigued and want to try it out? Here’s a code to get $10 off your first order!!
Try it out and let me know what you think!! Happy Shopping!
It’s my One Year Anniversary on Keto! And what an amazing year it’s been!
Exactly one year ago today I started this journey and NEVER did I think a year later I’d be here where I am. 80 pounds gone. Stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in ages and BOOM. There it was. -80
Whenever someone asks me what the most important thing is in the beginning – I always say “take before pictures”. I tell everyone this because I didn’t. I have very few full length photos of myself from the beginning and the few photos I do have are ones that I had to take 25 different takes to find one I even liked!
But there is one picture from a year ago that I have. Our oldest daughter surprised me with tickets to see Guns ‘n Roses last year. August 13th, 2017 to be exact. I was SO excited for this concert…a definite bucket list item!
I had been looking into keto for a few weeks and was contemplating starting soon. Then I took this picture with my beautiful daughter and “that moment” hit me.
My father had his second surgery in Philadelphia this week so there was a lot of driving back and forth. And MUCH stress! Thankfully his surgery went well (much better than last week’s) and he finally got to go home after 9 days in the hospital. Such a relief to our family! Now he’s on his road to recovery…
… And so am I!
Remember that pulled hamstring from 2 weeks ago? I’ve been taking it easy and resting and stretching and tonight I tested it out… my first mile back!
It wasn’t pretty. AT ALL. It was not my fastest time. BY FAR.
But it’s done and it was pain free. I’m not a patient person but I listened to my body and did everything it needed. And it worked.
One mile down…a billion more to go! I’ve got this!!
